STRUCTURAL SURVEYS

Are you worried because you see cracks in your walls, or are you scared your property may be suffering from subsidence? Then you need what we call a structural survey.

Depending on the scope of work, structural survey does include an examination of the property both externally and internally, and all visible elements of the property would be assessed to determine the overall condition of the property.

Our engineers are known to have experience in surveying both commercial and private properties. So, whether you need a complete structural survey or simply need to look at a specific issue, we offer the required complete structural surveys.

That being said, complete structural surveys are recommended for older structures which might need repairs. A structural survey is known to describe the overall condition of each part of a property or an infrastructure (i.e. bridge) and locate all critical defects found, and make the urgent repairs to the building.

Our customers are generally required to carry out a structural survey of a property for mortgage approval purposes so that the condition of the property is assessed and the relevant structural report provided.

At Vanguard Solutions, we carry out condition surveys which consist of visual observation of the property and, depending on the scope of the Works, an intrusive survey of the structure which includes, floors, walls, roofs, chimneys, doors, windows, outbuildings, garages, cellars, etc. We carry out a complete structural survey on request.

Here are some of the things that may be included in the structural survey (depending on scope of the works):

  1. Survey and inspection of supporting walls.
  2. Survey and inspection for subsidence and possible recommendation for remedial works.
  3. Surveys of large trees in close proximity to the property.
  4. Examination of structural defects and give an analysis of their potentially destructive effects.
  5. We can help identify (where possible) details of the materials used to construct the property and any essential technical details.
  6. We can examine damages in timber structures including check for dry rot, woodworm damage, etc.
  7. We can check for damages in roofing and masonry.
  8. We can recommend further investigations on the structure, if this is deemed required.

So, whether you are based in Birmingham and surroundings, Bristol, London or Manchester – Vanguard Solutions will be delighted to provide you with the engineering support you need for your project. No project is too small for us.
